Department of Marketing

General Overview
Established in July 1979, under the Faculty of Commerce and Management (now University of Dar-es-Salaam Business School), the Department of Marketing has gained reputation for the quality of its teaching, consulting and researching staff. The department dynamism and innovativeness are demonstrated through its wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs, research and consultancies outputs. The academic programs are in such areas of international trade, international business, tourism, retailing, services marketing and integrated marketing communications. Researches and consultancies conducted singly or jointly by members of the department and other collaborating partners from within and outside the country are in a wide range of sectors such as entrepreneurship and enterprise development, retailing, branding, advocacy, services marketing and customer care, environmental conservation, tourism ,international trade and business and networking .

Department of Marketing Structure
The current structure of the Department consists of a Head of the Department (HOD) who is assisted by two coordinators: Coordinator for Academics (CAD) and Coordinator for Research and Publications (CR&P). The Coordinator for Academics (CAD) is assisted by two coordinators. These are the Assistant Coordinator - Academics (ACAD) and the Assistant Coordinator -Tourism Studies (ACTRS).

ACADEMIC STAFF

The department boasts of eighteen (18) qualified, competent and experienced academic staff. Ten (10) out of the 18 academic staff are holders of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), two are professors whilst the rest of the staff are at different stages of their doctorate studies.
